Sounds like a mental thing to be saying, but there are some crazy (in the positive sense of the word, of course) people in this blogging world. Upstart Blogger found April to be a tough month due to some technical difficulties and as a result, is offering a free Macbook Air to one lucky person who links to the site. There are also five free iPhones up for grabs, with details coming soon.
If you’ve got a blog (or any other home on the web), you might as well have a go and link to the site - you’re reading the evidence that I’ve had a go!

Can’t say I find myself in a library often these days, many believe I was put off after finding out my department at University was called “Department of Library Studies” until a couple of years before I attended. (It changed to the Department of Information Science, if you were wondering. Sneaky, huh.)
However, turns out that some of these book-wielding buildings actually look really cool inside. Granted, I nearly clicked away from the web site that presented me with this insight (another stumble…) after it’s title was “Hot Library Smut”. Thankfully the first paragraph reassured me and I scrolled down to see the impressive interiors of the BNF in Paris and the British Library, amongst others.

So I found myself having a stumble around this afternoon and happened upon a page entitled “The Strangest Internet Video Online Ever“. They weren’t joking, it was quite insane - but not in a gross way, fear not. The five minute animation reel is pretty funny and quite inventive, so I thought I’d try and see who made it based on the “Cyriak” tag at the end of the video.
That led me to the creator’s site, which in turn explained that this was his showcase reel. One of the most memorable things about the video for me was the crazy tune going on in the background - which, it turns out, is made by Cyriak too as one of a number of Electronica tracks available via their Myspace music page. The track used in the video is “No more memory”.
If you’re a fan of the animation of Terry Gilliam used on Monty Python, I’d recommend taking a look at this Cyriak’s work.

I’ll tell you what is a mystery to me… where, I wonder, did Myspace get the inspiration for their new navigation bar which, according to Tom’s blog, will be appearing on the site soon?
Answers on a postcard please, I’m stumped.

After saying I was going to upgrade to 2.5 it was just a matter of finding the time to do it and at last, today was the day that provided that time. I was pleasantly surprised that all I needed to complete the upgrade process was the Codex Upgrade instructions, phpMyAdmin and an SSH session to my server.
After backing everything up, it took about 10 minutes to ensure I copied everything over correctly without overwriting my heavily customised theme and the plugins I use, then I ran the upgrade script and all was well.
The new editor in “Write Post” is a drastic improvement on the old version, it’s much more simple and better arranged on the page. It also gives you a preview of the permalink you’ll get for your post which I especially like.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say once I delve further in to it, but on first impressions you can colour me impressed.
